Staci Sullivan’s Jewelry & Design Studio provides insurance appraisals for purchases made in store and online. Outside appraisals and updates are available. If you need an insurance or estate appraisal, please call to set up an appointment. Same day appraisals are available.
Appraisals begin at an average price of $155 for the first item and can vary between $35-$125 for every additional item (depending on the complexity).
Jewelry appraisals are not needed if you are looking to sell or consign an item.
Sell
Your jewelry insurance appraisal is a document that details the approximate retail replacement value of the purchased item. This replacement value is calculated from current market retail data.
In order to substantiate the value, the appraisal takes into account the cut, color, clarity and carat weight of the gemstone(s), the weight of the precious metal used in the piece, as well as the craftsmanship.
Appraisal documents are typically required by insurance companies in order to hold a policy on high-value items.
Appraise
Estate jewelry appraisals are typically based on fair market value. It is the value one would use in settling the overall value of jewelry in an estate. It is commonly used if the jewelry is being divided among family members.
Once an estate appraisal is completed by Staci Sullivan, it can be upgraded to an insurance appraisal value for a nominal fee. This document upgrade will be reprinted with a replacement value in the name of the person who owns the jewelry.
